Already, not yet: on earth as it is in heaven

Choreography by Amy Roark-McIntosh

Program Notes: I am haunted by the question of whether heaven really refers only to the after life.  I find myself wondering what it means to live fully in the now, in the present, while in the midst of life and death.  I imagine a place where tools of destruction are transforming…swords becoming plowshares.  Can we live now in an upside down kingdom where empire and power no longer reign to control and intimidate, but where love overwhelms power and being fully known through vulnerability and authenticity is a way of life.  Enter.  “…heaven and earth are designed to overlap and interlock.” N. T. Wright
